A benign hydrothermal synthesis of nanopencils-like zinc oxide nanoflowers

Synthesis of zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoflowers and nanopencils is normally carried out with the help of structure-directing chemicals and templates. Besides releasing environmentally toxic substances, the use of these chemicals restricts the practical applications of nanostructures. In this paper, we report a typical template-free and environmentally benign synthesis of ZnO nanoflowers ...

Simulation and experimental study of rheological properties of CeO2–water nanofluid

Metal oxide nanoparticles offer great merits over controlling rheological, thermal, chemical and physical properties of solutions. The effectiveness of a nanoparticle to modify the properties of a fluid depends on its diffusive properties with respect to the fluid. In this study, rheological properties of aqueous fluids (i.e. water) were enhanced with the addition of CeO2 ...

Simulating the impact between particles with applications in nanotechnology fields (identification of properties and manipulation)

The aim of this research is to study and simulate the Andrews impact theory and its potential in identifying the properties of soft biological particles and in manipulating these particles at nano scale by means of the atomic force microscope (AFM). The reason for employing the Andrews theory in this research is that this theory is unique in considering the plastic state of soft ...

Grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation of hydrogen physisorption in Li- and K-doped single-walled silicon carbide nanotube

Hydrogen adsorption was investigated in Li- and K-doped single-walled silicon carbide nanotubes (SWSiCNT) by applying the grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation. Our results depict that hydrogen storage increases as a function of pressure at fixed temperature. We considered seven doping sites on the nanotube.
