Highly efficient frequency doubling and quadrupling of a short-pulsed thulium fiber laser

We report the second harmonic generation and fourth harmonic generation of the output from a short-pulsed (~ 80 ps) thulium-doped fiber laser, generating 976 and 488 nm wavelengths with high efficiency. With a narrow-linewidth (0.5 nm) pump at a power of 3.2 W, a second harmonic power of 2.4 W was generated at 976 nm with a conversion efficiency reaching 75%. For FHG, 690 mW of...

Method of Harmonic Source Identification Based on Harmonic Apparent Power

Based on the harmonic apparent power defined by the IEEE 1459-2010 power standard, the paper proposed a new method of identifying the main harmonic source at the point of common coupling (PCC). Using the reference impedance method, the utility and customer harmonic voltage and current contributions are calculated. And then combined with the IEEE 1459-2010 standard, defined the...

The role of glycaemic and lipid risk factors in mediating the effect of BMI on coronary heart disease: a two-step, two-sample Mendelian randomisation study

Aims/hypothesis The extent to which effects of BMI on CHD are mediated by glycaemic and lipid risk factors is unclear. In this study we examined the effects of these traits using genetic evidence. Methods We used two-sample Mendelian randomisation to determine: (1) the causal effect of BMI on CHD (60,801 case vs 123,504 control participants), type 2 diabetes (34,840 case vs 114...

Complete genome sequence of esterase-producing bacterium Croceicoccus marinus E4A9T

Croceicoccus marinus E4A9Twas isolated from deep-sea sediment collected from the East Pacific polymetallic nodule area. The strain is able to produce esterase, which is widely used in the food, perfume, cosmetic, chemical, agricultural and pharmaceutical industries. Here we describe the characteristics of strain E4A9, including the genome sequence and annotation, presence of...

Study of the numerical simulation of tight sandstone gas molecular diffusion based on digital core technology

Diffusion is an important mass transfer mode of tight sandstone gas. Since nano-pores are extensively developed in the interior of tight sandstone, a considerable body of research indicates that the type of diffusion is mainly molecular diffusion based on Fick’s law. However, accurate modeling and understanding the physics of gas transport phenomena in nano-porous media is still...

Correction to: Gender difference in acquired seizure susceptibility in adult rats after early complex febrile seizures

In the original publication of the article, the representative EEG of female rat pups with FS in Figure 1 C and D was incorrectly intercepted from that of male rat pups. This correction does not affect the conclusions of the paper. Figure 1 has been corrected on the online PDF version and displayed below.

Devosia nitraria sp. nov., a novel species isolated from the roots of Nitraria sibirica in China

An aerobic, Gram-stain negative, short rod-shaped and motile strain, 36-5-1T, was isolated from the roots of Nitraria sibirica in Zhangye city, Gansu province, north-west of China. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence and two housekeeping genes (glnA and atpD) indicated that the strain represents a novel species closely related to the Devosia, Rhizobium and...

Physiological and genomic features of a novel violacein-producing bacterium isolated from surface seawater

Strains JW1T and JW3, isolated from surface seawater of the Arabian Sea, were subjected to polyphasic taxonomic analysis. Cells of both strains were Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, and rod-shaped. They formed violet pigment and produced violacein. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, strains JW1T and JW3 showed high 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with...

Arabidopsis PRC1 core component AtRING1 regulates stem cell-determining carpel development mainly through repression of class I KNOX genes

Background Polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2)-catalyzed H3K27me3 marks are tightly associated with the WUS-AG negative feedback loop to terminate floral stem cell fate to promote carpel development, but the roles of Polycomb repressive complex 1 (PRC1) in this event remain largely uncharacterized. Results Here we show conspicuous variability in the morphology and number of...

Complete genome sequence of bacteriochlorophyll-synthesizing bacterium Porphyrobacter neustonensis DSM 9434

The genus Porphyrobacter belongs to aerobic anoxygenic phototrophic bacteria cluster. Porphyrobacter neustonensis DSM 9434 was isolated from a eutrophic freshwater pond in Australia, and is able to synthesize Bacteriochlorophyll a as well as grow under aerobic conditions. It is the type species of the genus Porphyrobacter. Here we describe the characteristics of the strain DSM...
