Squashed Toric Sigma Models and Mock Modular Forms

We study a class of two-dimensional \({\mathcal{N}=(2,2)}\) sigma models called squashed toric sigma models, using their Gauged Linear Sigma Models (GLSM) description. These models are obtained by gauging the global \({U(1)}\) symmetries of toric GLSMs and introducing a set of corresponding compensator superfields. The geometry of the resulting vacuum manifold is a deformation of...

Mesoporous Nickel Oxide (NiO) Nanopetals for Ultrasensitive Glucose Sensing

Glucose sensing properties of mesoporous well-aligned, dense nickel oxide (NiO) nanostructures (NSs) in nanopetals (NPs) shape grown hydrothermally on the FTO-coated glass substrate has been demonstrated. The structural study based investigations of NiO-NPs has been carried out by X-ray diffraction (XRD), electron and atomic force microscopies, energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), and...

Mathematical method to find best suited PV technology for different climatic zones of India

This paper presents a reliable mathematical method to predict the energy generation from grid connected photovoltaic plant of different commercially used technologies in different zones of India. Global horizontal insolation (GHI) and daytime temperature are the two major parameters affecting the output of photovoltaic (PV) plant. Depending on those two major parameters, India is...

Localization on AdS2 × S1

Conformal symmetry relates the metric on AdS 2 × S 1 to that of S 3. This implies that under a suitable choice of boundary conditions for fields on AdS 2 the partition function of conformal field theories on these spaces must agree which makes AdS 2 × S 1 a good testing ground to study localization on non-compact spaces. We study supersymmetry on AdS 2 × S 1 and determine the...

Comparative Analysis of Intelligently Tuned Support Vector Regression Models for Short Term Load Forecasting in Smart Grid Framework

A large amount of work has been taken place, if we talk about forecasting in the fields of power system. Various reforms in the existing techniques have proved to be helpful in providing guidance to researchers for developing efficient algorithms exhibiting greater accuracy. This paper presents three forecasting models viz. three-day-trained Support Vector Regression model and...

Biodegradation of isoproturon by Pseudoxanthomonas sp. isolated from herbicide-treated wheat fields of Tarai agro-ecosystem, Pantnagar

A gram-negative, rod-shaped, isoproturon (IPU) utilizing bacterium was isolated from herbicide-applied wheat fields of Tarai agro-ecosystem, Pantnagar. The phylogenetic sequence analysis based on 16S rRNA sequence revealed that the isolate could be a distinct species within the genus Pseudomonas. The isolate was a close relative of Pseudoxanthomonas japonensis (95 % similarity...

Supersymmetric localization for BPS black hole entropy: 1-loop partition function from vector multiplets

We use the techniques of supersymmetric localization to compute the BPS black hole entropy in \( \mathcal{N}=2 \) supergravity. We focus on the n v + 1 vector multiplets on the black hole near horizon background which is AdS2 × S2 space. We find the localizing saddle point of the vector multiplets by solving the localization equations, and compute the exact one-loop partition...

ϵ-Expansion in the Gross-Neveu model from conformal field theory

We compute the anomalous dimensions of a class of operators of the form \( {\left(\overline{\psi}\psi \right)}^p \) and \( {\left(\overline{\psi}\psi \right)}^p\psi \) to leading order in ϵ in the Gross-Neveu model in 2 + ϵ dimensions. We use the technique developed in arXiv:1505.00963.
