It explains the causes, incubation period, disease progression, seasons when it is more active, treatment (both medicines and remedies), complications, susceptibility, vaccination, and prevention. It also includes ways to tell if what a person is experiencing is a cold or a flu, as these are often confused. Probing questions are asked of the reader to encourage further comprehension. The text of this book is organized in a way that is visually appealing. It is uncluttered and uses many graphic design details, like infographics and mixing photograph and animation. Information provided by infographics includes areas of the body where flu symptoms are typically experienced, a compare/contrast of cold vs. flu symptoms, what a virus looks like, and an illustration of how the flu is spread. The way that this illness is explained in straightforward terms will help readers to understand how this and other diseases work. There is a glossary in the back of the book for understanding of medical or other vocabulary words that readers may need definitions for.
