The value of oral contrast ultrasonography in the diagnosis of gastric cancer in elderly patients

This study aims to investigate the value of oral contrast ultrasonography (OCUS) in the diagnosis of gastric cancer in elderly patients. OCUS data obtained from patients ≥ 60 years old were retrospectively analyzed and compared with gastroscopy results. Among the 12,716 subjects examined by OCUS, 5021 subjects were ≥ 60 years old, which accounted for 39.48% (5021/12,716...

Reliability of three-dimensional color flow Doppler and two-dimensional pulse wave Doppler transthoracic echocardiography for estimating cardiac output after cardiac surgery

Three-dimensional color flow Doppler (3DCF) is a new convenient technique for cardiac output (CO) measurement. However, to date, no one has evaluated the accuracy of 3DCF echocardiography for CO measurement after cardiac surgery. Therefore, this single-center, prospective study was designed to evaluate the reliability of three-dimensional color flow and two-dimensional pulse wave...

Research on the Expansion Characteristics and Compressive Strength of Mortars Containing Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion Desulfurization Slag

Circulating fluidized bed combustion (CFBC) desulfurization slag is a waste residue discharged from coal power plants. In this article, expansion characteristics and compressive strength of mortars containing CFBC desulfurization slag were evaluated, subjected to mechanical grinding time, the amount of additive, and chemical activation. Correlations between the linear expansion...

Tanshinone IIA Sodium Sulfonate Attenuates LPS-Induced Intestinal Injury in Mice

Background. Tanshinone IIA sodium sulfonate (TSS) is known to possess anti-inflammatory effects and has exhibited protective effects in various inflammatory conditions; however, its role in lipopolysaccharide- (LPS-) induced intestinal injury is still unknown. Objective. The present study is designed to explore the role and possible mechanism of TSS in LPS-induced intestinal...

Congestion Pricing for Aircraft Pushback Slot Allocation

In order to optimize aircraft pushback management during rush hour, aircraft pushback slot allocation based on congestion pricing is explored while considering monetary compensation based on the quality of the surface operations. First, the concept of the “external cost of surface congestion” is proposed, and a quantitative study on the external cost is performed. Then, an...

Internal jugular vein variability predicts fluid responsiveness in cardiac surgical patients with mechanical ventilation

BackgroundTo evaluate the efficacy of using internal jugular vein variability (IJVV) as an index of fluid responsiveness in mechanically ventilated patients after cardiac surgery.MethodsSeventy patients were assessed after cardiac surgery. Hemodynamic data coupled with ultrasound evaluation of IJVV and inferior vena cava variability (IVCV) were collected and calculated at...

Genomic inference of the metabolism and evolution of the archaeal phylum Aigarchaeota

Microbes of the phylum Aigarchaeota are widely distributed in geothermal environments, but their physiological and ecological roles are poorly understood. Here we analyze six Aigarchaeota metagenomic bins from two circumneutral hot springs in Tengchong, China, to reveal that they are either strict or facultative anaerobes, and most are chemolithotrophs that can perform sulfide...

Study on Performance of Silicon Ignitiors based on Energetic Chip of Porous Silicon

In order to study the igniton properties of the silicon ignitior, firing sensitivity test with output charge B-KNO3 were carried out, and the igniton properties was studied as well. The result indicates that the energetic chip can ignite B-KNO3 which burns sufficiently. The 50% firing voltage was 21.3V, standard deviation was 1.87, the 99.9% point was 27.1V.
