Bulla ampulla, belonging to Bullidae family, is a marine gastropod species with bulb. Members of Bullidae family are distributed in tropical and temperate waters. It is usually found in habitats of sand, mud, gravel, gren algae and sea bottoms, at intertidal flats, on tide-pond sand at depths of up to 70 m. For another scientific study conducted at Konyaaltı beach (36.883522° N...
In this study, the relationships were determined between the macro (Na, Mg, P, K, Ca), potential toxic metal, As, and trace element, Zn, levels of the muscle tissue and fish size (length and weight) in Serranus cabrilla (Linnaeus, 1758) caught via bottom trawl boat from the Yeşilovacık Bay (Northeastern Mediterranean, Turkey). The potential toxic metal, macro and trace element...
In the beginning of Bologna’s process and creation of European Higher Education Area (EHEA), great importance has been to the transparency, increase of quality and concurrency between institutions of higher education. Nowadays, hot topic in higher education institutions in Europe are real-time learning outcomes, they are analyzed, projected and are evaluated today in all Europe...
Morphological characters have commonly been used in analysis of biological contexts. Researchers often use the arrangements of morphological landmarks in their studies to extract shape information from any biological materials and need to get bio-measurements using any computer aided tools. Getting landmarks and measurements from biological materials are a time-consuming process...
Information technology (IT) systems have great potential to improve the efficiency and methods of operation in each government organization, providing added convenience and flexibility. Currently, most of government law enforcement agencies have digitized their methods of work by advancing their user services. With this new approach, have come new threats, therefore, it is...
Artificial intelligence has been extensively used in many areas such as computer science, robotics, engineering, medicine, translation, economics, business, and psychology. Various studies in the literature show that the artificial intelligence in modeling approaches give close results to the real data for solution of linear, non-linear, and other systems. In this study, we...
Drilling mud is used in drilling operations to ensure well stability and to transport the cut-offs to the surface and is generally classified as; Spud, Lignosulfonate and Polymer types. Spud Mud is the simple mud and mostly used at the beginning of drilling operations. It is mainly composed of bentonite and water. With increasing depth, It is hard to keep well stability and to...
In the present study, the heavy metal concentrations in different organs (skin and muscle tissue) were studied in Lessepsian suez puffer (Lagocephalus suezensis Clark and Gohar, 1953) collected from Iskenderun Bay, North-eastern Mediterranean. Heavy metals (Cd, Cu, Pb, Co, Cr, Fe, Mn, Ni & Zn) were analyzed in different organs for the above mentioned species. The maximum heavy...
Climate change is one of the major challenge for Earth Systems in this century. Since the Industrial revolution, energy demands of countries has been rapidly increased which also causes an accelerated burning fossil fuels and increased greenhouse gases emission (GHG) into the atmosphere. Sea surface temperature (SST) is a pointer of the water temperature, which mainly related to...
Diabetes mellitus is a global disease, of which prevalence increases rapidly. It causes severe microvascular and macrovascular complications such as retinopathy, nephropathy, cardiomyopathy, neuropathy etc. These contribute to morbidity and mortality in diabetic patients. Therefore, it is important to find an effective therapy method(s) for the protection of body from diabetes...
Fifteen specimens of the big-scale sand smelt, Atherina boyeri were caught by a single trawl haul with a net mesh size of 3 mm on February 2017 from the Seyhan Dam Reservoir (South Anatolia, Adana/Turkey). In this study the big-scale sand smelt, A. boyeri, was recorded for the first time in the Seyhan Dam Reservoir. In addition, some morphometric and meristic measurements of A...
In the present study, the relationships between sagittal otoliths (otolith length (OL), height (OH) and weight (OW)), fish size (fish length (TL) and weight (W)) in brown comber (Serranus hepatus, Linnaeus, 1758) were analysed. Fish specimens (N=504, 41–133 mm in TL and 1.05–31.98 g) were captured by bottom trawl vessels from off the Güllük Bay (Southern Aegean Sea) between...
A total of 1021 specimens of red mullet Mullus barbatus barbatus Linnaeus, 1758 were collected by using bottom trawl between April and December 2013 from Western Black Sea of Turkey. Total fish length ranged from 6.9-14.5 cm and weight ranged from 2.60-31.36 g. The length-weight relationships were determined for males, females and combined sexes as W=0.0055L3.25, W=0.0065L3.17, W...
This study investigates length–weight relationships (LWR) and length–length relationships (LLRs) of three length measurements (TL, FL, SL) for the Mediterranean population of the Indo-Pasific fourlined terapon, Pelates quadrilineatus. A total of 134 specimens were collected, and LWR for females, males and both sexes, were calculated as W= 0.0037TL3.5094, W= 0.0057TL3.3378 and W...
In this study, the proximate composition of muscle tissue was investigated in lion fish (P. miles), which has a high invasion potency in the Mediterranean. At the same time, the potentials of accumulation of essential and toxic metals in brain, gill, muscle and liver tissues have been examined. The study was carried out with 4 lion fish individuals (1st individual 278 g, 28 cm...
The copper accumulation in liver and gill tissues of Oreochromis niloticus, exposed to 2 ppm Cu and 1g/L clinoptilolite singly and to the same concentrations of their mixture over 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours was studied. ICP-AES spectrophotometer techniques were applied in determining tissue copper levels. Statistical evaluation of the experimental data was carried out by Student...
Bacteriocins are proteinaceous toxins produced by bacteria to inhibit the growth of similar or closely related bacterial strains. Fermented Parkia biglobosa seeds (African locust bean) were screened for bacteriocin-producing lactic acid bacteria (LAB) with the characterization of putative bacteriocins. Bacteriocin-producing lactic acid bacteria (LAB) were identified by 16s rDNA...

One of the substantial of geophysics is to investigate the subsurface condition of the earth (groundwater) using appropriate geophysical techniques. In this research the correlation of self potential (SP) and ground magnetic methods was used to investigate fluid seepage in Archaeological site, Sungai Batu, Lembah Bujang, Kedah, Malaysia. Self-potential method was used to...

During the Scuba survey at the Çevlik coast area of the southeastern side of the Iskenderun Bay on February 3, 2018. One male specimen of marbled shrimp Saron marmoratus was collected by scoop net at a depth of 15 m. With the present study, S. marmoratus is the first time reported from Turkish marine waters. S. marmoratus probably be entered the Mediterranean through the Suez Canal.
