Courageous Cuentos
Doña Auza
By Alex Godinez
My school is mainly a white except for my Spanish class. I
remember coming into class for the first time and seeing people
my color. Before this class I felt really bad, I felt as if I was
less than the kids. All these white kids would look at me like
they’ve never seen a brown person before. My teacher Ms.
Auza is super sweet. She’s so accepting and kind. She doesn’t
know this, but she is my favorite teacher. She’s my favorite
teacher because she’s funny and actually cares about us. On my
first day here, I remember not feeling my best because of all of
the dirty looks by all the white kids but once I got to 4th, I felt
kind of relieved to see some of my friends.
